I am wondering if this problem is to do with exporting, or whether it is a consequence of converting a stereo track to mono.
If you "Generate" a mono track and then export it, does Audacity crash?

Re: cannot record
There is no "wrench" icon as they suggest What is this "wrench" icon that you are talking about? Are you looking at a section that is specifically about "Realtek HD" sound cards? Is that the sound card that you have? Since you have posted in the "Forum Issues"...

Re: Audacity 1.26 won't compile
BTW, why is Audacity built against such an old version of wxwidgets??? Because it's an old version of Audacity. Development of Audacity 1.2.x ended a long time ago with all recent work focussed on Audacity 1.3.x (beta), which will eventually end up as 1.4 stable. The current version is 1.3.5 (beta)...

Re: LAME AND FHG ENCODER?
There's more than one kind of FhG encoder: FhG l3enc - the original Fraunhofer encoder - good but very slow FhG MP3enc - the "industry standard" encoder from Fraunhofer - excellent quality. FhG Fastencc - A fast encoder allegedly "knocked off" from the Fraunhofer code - (has a na...

Re: Viewing/Monitoring but not Recording
There's an awful lot of number crunching involved in creating a spectrogram. Displaying it in real time would take a lot of processing power. If you just want to see a waveform view in real time, use WinAmp - it has a "Line in" plug-in, and various kinds of visualisations including a "...

Re: Importing Raw Data- Static
To import Raw you need to know the exact right format, and even then, music from a game could be encoded in any manner of obscure way. You could try analysing the files with SUPER from erightsoft, that may give you some clue.

Re: Can neither record nor playback: Audacity 1.3.5 beta
I've been tempted to try SUSE, because it is a big name, has a massive repository, has been around a long time.... However - From hearing reports from various SUSE users, it seems like a good distro, provided that the software you want to use works out of the box. Synaptic does seem to me to be a be...

Re: Problems with G-Snap/Auto-tune
Do you think it will ever be possible to have the graphic interface with Audacity in the future? Not unless Steinberg change the licensing terms. I would rather that Audacity stayed open source with VST graphical interface, than went closed source with VST graphical interface. Hopefully at some poi...

Does the recording play in Audacity without pops?

Re: marking edit points / scrub function?
For Linux there is a program called "Sweep" - they make a big deal out of the fact that Sweep has a "scrub function", and I'm guessing that they are making a big deal out of it because its probably very difficult to implement with digital audio. http://www.metadecks.org/software/...
