Re: All the options for....
I know I can use a mixer, which I've done already, but something like a mic preamp would work, right? Yes What is the cheapest thing to use? I need something with at least 4 XLR inputs, at most 6. And it doesn't need to be extraordinary quality. A small mixing desk (mixing console). Check out the c...

Re: Ripping a music cd
Ripping a CD is essentially the same as playing the CD on your computer, except that the data is stored on your computer rather than just being streamed through your sound card.

Re: Headset Problem
You could look in the Windows Control Panel and see if there is a way to control the Trust HS-4050, perhaps in the Sounds and Audio devices section.

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
This is the basic circuit. The capsule in the example is a Panasonic WM61A, but the circuit should work with whatever capsule is in the computer microphones. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c157/sveinb/mic-power.gif This gives an "unbalanced" (single signal wire plus earth) output, so to...

Since you are putting them into an Excel document, you could probably use a formula in Excel to convert from seconds into your desired format.

Re: Headset Problem
Check the documentation for the headset and see if there is a way to disable the feature. If not, then you may need to use a conventional computer microphone/headset that plugs into the sound card.

How much free space do you have?
Which version of Audacity?
What is your operating system?
(there are boards on the forum specifically for Windows/Linux/Mac and different versions of Audacity)
Audacity is capable of recording for many hours, subject to your computers capabilities.

Re: only 18 minutes left on hard drive
By default Audacity saves temporary files on the C: drive (Windows) The exact location can be found by looking in "Edit > Preferences > Directories" (Audacity 1.3.x) Using an external drive for the temporary files may cause problems if the disk access time is not quick enough. The best sol...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
PC microphones are powered by the sound card. Plugging them directly into the Nady RMX-6 will not work as it is not designed to support PC microphones. You will either need to buy conventional microphones that will work with the Nady, or if you are good at DIY electronics I can probably sort out a s...
