Re: Lame and Lamer
The LAME encoder can be anywhere on your computer - Audacity will look in some of the more common places, and I think this has been tweaked several times by the developers. If Audacity does not find it automatically, you should set it in "Edit > Preferences > Import/Export" Once the correc...

Re: two .aup files will not load
"Audacity Projects" are made of two parts: filename .aup is the Audaciy Project file filename _data is a folder that contains data for the audacity project. Audacity requires both the AUP file and the data to be available. Audacity 1.2.x files can be opened in Audacity 1.3.x Audacity 1.3.x...

Re: Noise removel not so successful
The most complicated thing I have ever done with a music program, is use Exact Audio Copy to check spectral analysis. I'm a newbie here, and I don't know that, or much of anything else in regards to Audacity. Still hoping someone can help. using a "High Pass" filter set to 200 Hz removes ...

Re: Audio flatline
It sounds like you have some sort of "noise reduction" or "automatic gain control" happening with your headset or sound card that is messing things up. Headset microphones have been found to often give very poor results with recording because they are designed for other purposes ...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
I don't see any reason not to use the 9v battery, other than the volume of the microphone might be a little wacky. A lot of electret microphone capsules are rated up to about 10v, however you should ideally check the specification of the capsule that is being used. "Standard" PC microphon...

Re: All the options for....
What about one of those tiny box mixer things that have about 4 channels, and a few level inputs? Or would that just be crap? If you mean the kind of "mini-mixer" that I think that you mean, they are very basic indeed. http://www.adorama.com/images/Product/VDAZCAM3.jpg Typically this kind...

Re: Audacity fails to open after installing swh-plugins
The plug-ins should go in the plug-in folder which is in the Audacity program folder.
