Re: ENVELOPE FOLLOWER
Audacity does not have that effect, and I've not seen a plug-in to do it. You could emulate a crude version of the effect by using the "Auto duck" effect - first apply it to a dummy track containing a continuous tone, then use the dummy track as the control track and repeat the effect on y...

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
Audacity projects can be difficult to distribute. As well as the size issue, there are multiple parts to Audacity projects. There is the project file (filename.aup), and then the data. Unless you set it up specifically to do so, Audacity will not necessarily put all the data in the data folder. See ...

It's something weird that the driver is doing. I could understand if it was the other way round.

OK... I get it .. I'll go away ... No no no, that's not what I meant at all. Many apologies if that's the way it came over. koz and myself have no ownership of this product - it is your product just as much as it is mine. We are all trying to get Audacity to work with your system. What I was saying...

Re: Help With Compression Effects
Lemme know what you think. I kinda gave it a reverby effect too with the Black Water Reverb plugin I have. I kinda wanted it to sound like its in another room down the street with a little bit of a wet sound to it to make it plausible. It may just be because you've down-sampled it for the internet,...

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
I also looked at the specifications for the M-Audio MobilePre USB. They are very vague. I got the impression that the device will do audio in and out through the USB, and that left and right inputs to the device would go to left and right in your recording application (Audacity). If this is the case...

Re: only 18 minutes left on hard drive
If I get the jist of your message about transferring music to a CD to free up recording hours, By default Audacity saves temporary files on the C: drive (Windows). Most Windows users will have just one internal hard drive in their computer (the C: drive), so it is important to have plenty of free d...

Re: Can you multi track record
I have a Guillemont Hercules 16/12 Firewire audio interface and a Dell M1330 laptop running Windows Vista. All works fine with trial versions of some other software. I am after ANY freeware program that can record 5 channels from this device. With Audacity, I can record 2 channels. If I attempt to ...

Re: Low Volume Recording
The Audigy card should give good results. Keep the levels high, but out of the red on the mixer. (Pushing the levels into the red will cause distortion). Keep the peak recording level in Audacity below -6 dB In Audacity you can drag the meter toolbars around and stretch them to the full width of the...
