Re: Gain slider bug

In version 1.3.4 Beta (Windows version tested), when dragging the gain slider with the mouse, the slider moves half the distance of the mouse. I kind of like that - makes it easier to adjust to say -3dB. (not sure if it's a bug or a feature ) I like it more that you can double click and enter the v...

Re: Walkie talkie sound

There's a number of distortion effects available that may add to the realism.

Re: unable to record with delta 1010LT

You could try looking on Driverguide.com for older drivers. I think that you need to register with an e-mail address, but it's free.

Re: Dell Sigmatel HD Audio 92xx drivers

Dell reps tell me it will never work....... In that case you will need to use a different sound card. If you have a desktop computer it is easy to fit a PCI sound card. If it is a laptop then you will probably be best with an external USB sound card. Behringer make the UCA-202 which is a very basic...

Re: Crash in WinXP

In relation to MDOC's comments about the swap file - I think that Windows reports free space taking into account the swap file (it counts the swap file as used space), but by default, Windows controls the swap file size dynamically depending on memory usage. When you get to very low available space ...

Re: unable to record with delta 1010LT

Funny how pro tools works fine. ProTools, by default, uses its own drivers, (not the standard Windows drivers),which only work with a limited range of supported hardware. Audacity uses the standard Windows drivers, which support most but not all hardware. Alatham's post indicates that there are dri...

Re: Crash in WinXP

Why should it? It might have very poor performance not suitable for recording/replaying, but it should not crash. I would agree that it will rarely cause a full crash (Blue Screen of Death), but as you say, performance can drop to such a low level that the computer appears to be locked up. If at th...

Re: Equipment to record a meeting

I read on one of your posts that live playback is difficult on a PC. Is that the only issue? PC's and Mac both have their own strengths and weaknesses. Vista has various problems all of its own that can cause trouble for recording, so at present if you want to do recording on Windows, XP is a bette...

Re: some .ny plugins not showing up

<<</audacity.cfg>>> Must be the newer version of Audacity. Mine is a different filename. Really? What's yours called? According to the documentation for Audacity 1.3 it is audacity.cfg on all platforms, or are you using Audacity 1.2? Audacity currently uses Nyquist 2.37. Nyquist 3 is not yet suppor...
