Re: Audacity Crashed - recovered manually
<< random numbering of the .au files>> Why is that used ? Exactly what I thought :o No-copy option as default for importing is nothing else than a trap. It is useful when working on large files, but I would prefer the "Safe" options to be the default. (Isn't it more usual for default valu...

Re: Time between songs
You could always burn the whole thing to a CD (assuming that you have a CD writer), then copy the CD to tape. That way you would have a CD and tape.

Re: 3 questions
right but it seems the Project Rate is indicated on the lower left hand side of the panel bar isn't there also a Project Resolution? 8bit, 16bit, 24bit etc? There is a "default recording resolution" bit depth that you set up in Preferences, but Audacity does not really care what bit depth...

On Windows?
If you can get it to work with Windows Sound Recorder, we can most likely help you get it working with Audacity.

Re: Time between songs
There is no standard amount of seconds between songs in commercial recordings. It is quite common on some commercial recordings to have no gaps at all. Other CD's can have 4 seconds or more.cgib55 wrote:Also, what is the standard amount of seconds between songs in commercial recordings?

Re: Sudden and random loss of sound
The forum is a learning tool. At least I thought it was Yes it certainly is. I've learned loads about Audacity since I've been coming here. I don't have control over file corruption! Do other programs like Garageband or Pro Tools have this problem too? Random file corruption is pretty rare - new us...
