No you're not the only one - but it depends on what the problem was in the first place and how much of the project remains. Often a trashed project is unrecoverable, but sometimes you can be lucky.jan.kolar wrote:I dit say !

Re: Audacity 1.2.6 crashes on startup on Vista Ultimate
There's not many regular forum posters that use Vista, so the wiki is really THE resource.
I don't think 1.3.5 will be more chatty, but it would certainly be worth trying - 1.2.6 is very old now.

Re: 4 Channel Recording
That shows all the inputs and outputs that are available to Audacity - Unfortunately looking down the list the maximum number of inputs or outputs that are available is 2. There is no user option that can increase the number of inputs or outputs. I don't know if more inputs would be available with d...

Re: Using Audacity for a homemade electronic Osciloscope
I am not really expecting to work in realtime since my device can record to Mhz speeds but can not transfer to it at that speed, So does your "device" record the signals on it's own data storage device? If this is the case then do you can set whatever sampling frequency you like. maybe it...

Re: Using Audacity for a homemade electronic Osciloscope
Audacity is probably not the best starting point for your project. It doesn't do things in real time and it is probably orientated towards music / audio applications. There is an open source project called "xoscope" that may be more suitable: http://xoscope.sourceforge.net/ Can Audacity wo...

I'm also with Virgin - 2Meg download speed, 200k upload speed (10%) These are the maximum (capped) speeds with my broadband account. I find it adequate. File sharing sites are often very slow due to their high traffic and limited bandwidth. I can always achieve full speed to my own web space, but us...

Re: Can I Back Up Files/Data to a DVD?
So inasmuch as they're WAV files, I can store them anywhere. If I later want to make the same WAV files MP3 files - one WAV, one MP3 of each song, I think I can install the LAME software and that should do it???? Yes. Another way to do it is to use LameDrop - an easy to use (free) standalone MP3 en...

Re: New To Program And Needs Help
Carmina Burana is by Carl Orff not Mozart. Chris’s dynamic compressor is a plug in effect that will probably accomplish your task. Read his pre-amble so that you understand what it does, then download it an put the .ny file in your Audacity plug-in folder. (It may require Audacity 1.3.x ) http://pdf...
