lol. That's the trouble with pc speakers - they're often so poor that it's hard to tell the difference between "clear" and "loud"hurricane_sh wrote:I thought the smaller file had higher quality, it sounds more clear on my poor speakers.

So you've managed to get it compiled at last. Congratulations.
I presume that you are setting the default project rate in "Edit > Preferences > Quality", and you are restarting Audacity to ensure that the new defaults are applied.

If ASIO drivers are available for the device, you could try Wavosaur - it's not open source, but it is still free software.

Audacity 1.3.5 uses the system clock - whatever time your computer thinks it is.
