Why do you need to use MP3? Why not import the WAV into iTunes and convert into AAC? Can't iTunes do that?

The problem with many of he formats that get requested is that they have restrictive licensing terms.

Re: noise editing

My new computer records the noise from the poorly grounded power source (plug in the floor). If the noise is a low hum, a "notch filter" works well at removing "mains hum". There is a very simmple one that you can use available here: http://easyspacepro.com/audacity/plugins/Main...

Re: lost file association between data and .au files

You do not want to be using the .au files - they are fragments of data for the project. If you change any of those .au files in any way, you could turn your 2.5 GB project to dust.

Re: Anyone know how to edit an M4R file?

had to convert to aac, back to mp3 then edit and then rename to aac and put into itunes, then pull out and name it an mp4 again. It's not actually that bad. You just need to convert from M4R/AAC to WAV, do your editing and convert back to M4R/AAC. You will need a 3rd party converter for the convers...

Re: Anyone know how to edit an M4R file?

Try renaming them to AAC, and use Super (free) or another suitable converter (possibly FooBar2000 - also free) to a format that Audacity supports (such as WAV).

Re: how to equalize the volume?

Maybe this has something to do with the fact that I have the free edition of Audacity? That has nothing to do with it - we ALL have the free edition. Apart from some expensive unauthorised pirate copies, Audacity is free open source software. http://audacityteam.org/about/license If there is any do...

Re: Can't hear drum machine unitl after it's recorded

You need to go to the Windows Mixer and enable playback from the Line in port.

Re: Audio Technica AT-PL50 Turntable

Check the record settings in the Windows Mixer. Uf you are recording through "Line In", then that is the recording input that should be selected (rather than "Mix" or "Stereo Mix"). You can then control the input (record) volume from the recording section of the Windows...
