Re: Audacity crashed while opening 2nd MP3
About crash recovery: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... shRecovery
As for the cause of the crash - check that MP3, is it really an mp3 or some other format with an mp3 extension?

People have reported various problems when recording exceed 2GB. Below this you should be OK (and may be able to go above this with 1.3.5 or above). i like to record stream overnight Do you need to record the whole 8 hours? Audacity 1.3.5 has a "timer record" option that allows you to set ...

Re: voice and instrument distortion
I have a wonderful old piece of Jazz by Louis Armstrong (on CD) Is this a digitally remastered CD, or a home recorded one? If it is home recorded, then the distortion is more likely to be wear on the original record, or that the record was too loud when recorded onto the computer. If it's a digital...

Without a driver (that works on your OS) for the Sony device, it is not usable on your PC.
Have you checked here for any updated drivers? http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-li ... egion_id=1

Re: Exporting Selection Info
I prefer Audacity 1.2.6 because I like how it displays the current selection info (time/samples). Audacity 1.3.5 rounds the time to the nearest second, but I want millisecond precision. In Audacity 1.3.5 you can select various formats for the time display in the selection tool bar - just click on t...

Re: Horrible distortion when recording 12" singles
I would be very interested in the diagram you offered for your DIY volume knob Hardly worth a diagram - On the dual gang 10k pot there are two rows of three legs. Take one of the rows and we'll call the legs (A),(B) and (C) We will connect the Left channel input and output to this row of legs: 10k ...
