Re: Advice on Mixing effect, please...
Brazil ! Hey that's cool - this site is so international - and your English is very good :) (I'm in England) Experimenting and playing is a great way of learning - it's impossible to explain all the subtle variations, but we gain from experience. Try looking up "Automatic Double Tracking" ...

Re: distorted playback at 25 second mark

Make sure that you have plenty of disk space (Drive C:/). Defragment your hard drive (C:/) Shut down all non-essential programs. Clos...

Re: Advice on Mixing effect, please...
Inverting one channel while leaving it otherwise synchronised with the other channel can cause some strange, and often unfortunate side effects, such as causing the two channels to "cancel out" and completely disappear on some mono equipment. Moving one of the tracks will cause the phase o...

Re: anyway to level out 2 different audios (urgent)
Using Audacity 1.3.5, you can split each "side" of the conversation into individually speech snippets, then adjust them using the "time shift" tool. If person A is on one track, and person B is on another, it is relatively easy to match the volume levels by simply adjusting the v...

Re: Suggestions for making TTS voices sound better?
You've got something of a battle on your hands. To my ear, the most obtrusive downfall of the speech you are using is the unnatural rhythm. This could be improved with a lot of editing in Audacity, but would be difficult and very time consuming. Some text readers, such as the TextAssist program that...

Re: Suggestions for making TTS voices sound better?
How do you mean "better"? More natural? Is there a particular reason why you want to use Cepstral TTS rather than recording a real voice?

Re: need to recover files
Maybe the answer is that for someone who's a newbie, I have to spend $400 to get Adobe's audio editing product - presumably that comes with a manual. Ha, yes it does, but I'm yet to find anyone who can explain the workings of their compressor. :D The official documentation for 1.2.6 is here: http:/...
