Re: Recorded too loud, remove the excess?
I was thinking of using "Clipfix", but possibly in a slightly non-standard way. Clipfix is available in some of the most recent versions of Audacity 1.3 (beta), and is available as a plug-in for all other 1.3 versions. Clipfix works by "rounding off" peaks that have been "ha...

Re: Recorded too loud, remove the excess?
You may be out of luck on this one, but there is a very slim chance of recovery.
Can you upload a short (just a few seconds) of a badly affected part (as a WAV file) somewhere on the internet and post a link to it so that we can have a look at it.

Re: real time wah-wah pedal control
<<<We can adjust the volume and pan of a track in "real time">>> I doubt that. Audacity makes you change something and then applies the change. We can change volume and pan in real time :o (though it's not exactly "real time processing"). Audacity 1.3.5 Load up a track and start...

Re: why cant i edit tracks saved to my pc from a cd?
How are you "opening a track from a CD"? Audacity can not play CD tracks, you need to either rip the track from the CD with appropriate software, or play the track with a CD/media player and record it. In either case, you should rip/record the track as a "16 bit 44.1 kHz WAV" fil...

Re: Entering file names
Right now, when I export multiples, I seem to have to give the artist name and album name for every export. I wondered if there was a way to cut and paste names so I didn't have to type the names over again for artist and album name. If you use Audacity 1.3.x you can open the metadata editor from t...

Re: lost/blank project
I'm guessing that if you open the AUP file in a text editor, there will not be much in it? Or not much that actually relates the locations of the data files that you have? Useful background information before going any further: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=File_Management_Tips I'm no...

Re: combining 2 mono tracks into stereo
"Quick Mix" is in Audacity 1.2.x (project menu) "Mix and Render" is in Audacity 1.3.x (tracks menu) There functions are essentially the same, though 1.3.x has some additional features that make the new name more accurate to what it does. (You can "render" a single track...
