Re: Warnings compiling VST Enabler

I hadn't tried audacity with jack, as I use it more like a wave editor, don't need it to work with super low latency No, I'm not particularly bothered about the super low latency either. It's the virtual wiring - hooking it up to other Jack applications that interests me. Running Hydrogen through J...

Re: Warnings compiling VST Enabler

I for one would be very interested in getting Audacity working properly with JACK. I got it to work in a fashion using Audacity 1.3.4, but with some fairly major issues. Currently I'm using the "Intrepid" (Ubuntu) build of Audacity 1.3.5. It works very well with ALSA, with very few issues,...

Re: TIME DELAY

In Audacity, go into "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and make sure that "software playthrough" is switched off (not selected).

Re: Help the noob with audio-in

I have the necessary cable (stereo jacks on one side and a normal headphone jack on the other), which is pluggen into the audio-in port, You mean the audio output of the Korg is plugged into the audio input of your computer? If that's the case, then Audacity will record from your computers in-built...

Re: My voice has unwanted reverb or slight delay

Can you tell us exactly how you are doing the recording. For example: Are you monitoring while you record? Are you using speakers or headphones to listen to the recording? Is it possible that your microphone is picking up sound from the speakers? In "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" there i...

Re: audacity running with the Atom processor...

It will probably work, though I've not tried it, but don't expect blistering performance. I run Audacity on an Intel Pentium II 500MHz with 512 MB RAM and can record and playback 4 tracks at 32 bit / 48 kHz, or 8 tracks at 16bit / 44.1 kHz. Performance of Audacity on my machine is about the same wit...

Re: recording from several sources simultaneously [any lang.

Hi, i dont know whether this is a good section to post this problem, sorry if not. Well it may have been better in the "Windows > Audacity 1.3.x (beta)" section, if that is what you are using, but no worries, let us know your set-up and we can move it later. Record from mic and line-in si...

Re: A different wave drawing style

But we are just running around in circles on that subject, Perhaps we are - maybe we're getting tied up on semantics, but I'm having trouble with your phrase "what the samples are supposed to represent" . As I see it, the data in the computer is nothing more than sample values - these are...

Re: Audio Silence

1)no it plays the silence in both the oringal MP3 and in the wav file I think we have the answer right there. Since the original mp3 has the problem, then that's where the problem lies - in the original recording. The probable cause of it: The camera is very much a budget device, so the manufacture...
