Re: apply settings to multiple files?

In Audacity 1.3.5 You create a "chain" of processes in "File > Edit Chains" Since you cannot use highpass or lowpass filters, use the Equalizer effect instead. To Apply a "Chain" to a bunch of files: "File > Apply Chain" Select the chain that you want to apply...

Re: Problem with sound when opening Audacity 1.2.4 (stable)

Audacity 1.2.4 is really old now. I would strongly recommend using a more up to date version. The current version is 1.3.5 If your OS supports deb packages you could try 1.3.3 from here: http://rpmseek.com/rpm-pl/audacity.html?hl=com&cx=0%3A-%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A0&qArStr=0&qRtStr=0&qDn...

Re: what is invert in dutch?

So is the problem that you are Dutch and Audacity is in English, or the other way round?

I don't think the is currently a Dutch version of Audacity.

Here's how to restore the language to English: http://www.audacityteam.org/wiki/index. ... t_language

Re: Problems with Realtek hda

It would probably have been better to post your question on one of the Linux boards - but anyway... Install ALSA and ALSA mixer (if not installed already), then select "ALSA default" for both playback and recording devices. If you look in the Linux/GNU pages you will see quite a few posts ...

Re: Constant Static with Mic

It's them darned PC Pixies again :D Let me guess - you are using Windows XP? Go into the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the system clock) and check the settings for both Recording and Playback. Also, in Audacity, go to "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and make sure that "softwar...

Re: apply settings to multiple files?

Audacity 1.3.5 has "Chain effects" which is a kind of limited batch processing. You can probably use that, but there are two things to be aware of: 1) Audacity does not support all functions in chain effects. 2) Audacity does not clear out the temporary files until you close the session, s...

Re: Does anyone know how audacity determine pitch?

Audacity uses FFT to determine this.
In Audacity 1.3, there are a number of options in "Edit > Preferences > Spectrograms" for changing the window type and FFT size.
