Re: MP3 player for websites
Thank you Mr. Fiddle, I appreciate your response. My goal is to have my own songs available on the player. So I would be posting songs that were made with the Audacity program. They do not have a URL associated with them... You are wanting people to be able to play your music from your website? Yes...

Re: Suggestions for a new cassette deck? (Really.)
I would tend to avoid second hand tape decks - you're unlikely to know the condition of the tape heads, belts, etc. For a good deck you will probably be looking at over £100 GBP for a new one. Cassette decks are still made by Teac, Sony, Tascam and Marantz among others. Sony have some available that...

Re: Deploy MSI file?
Installation isn't really necessary - all you need is the files unzipped into a folder and a link to the Audacity.exe file.

Re: AUP file not created
As far as I know, you are the first and only person with this problem. I've read literally thousands of posts on this forum, and not come across this before. Try following these instructions exactly and see what happens: First create a folder on your desktop and name it "AudacityTest" (wit...

Re: Help, please ...
1. Can I read into the mike and create a .WAV file using Audacity? Yes you can. When you "Save" in Audacity, it creates an "Audacity Project" which is NOT a standard audio file, so you need to use "Export" to create a standard WAV file. 2. How large can a file be? As b...

Re: Audacity locks up when clicking cancel on an effect
Same on Ubuntu using Audacity 1.3.5 Any workarounds would be appreciated Don't use the cancel button after preview - use "OK" and then "Undo" (Ctrl+Z). In the latest alpha version, there have been some changes to the "preview" function that I am hoping will fix the prob...

Re: MP3 player for websites
The easiest way is simply to link to a playlist, that way the playlist will be downloaded and (depending on the computer being used) will be opened by the default media player, which will then play the tracks from the addresses given in the play list. The main advantages of this method is that it wi...

Re: Latency when recording.
The delay is because you are using software playthrough. If the UCG102 has a headphone socket, you should use that for zero latency.

Re: Compression and stereo image
s bitrate for bitrate AAC is reckoned to be better than MP3. That depends on who you ask :D At high bit rates there is very little to choose between AAC, MP3 and Ogg. This survey from December 2005 put them all on par, (with a less than significant lead from Ogg Vorbis) http://www.listening-tests.i...
