Audacity is an audio recording and editing program, not a complete software music production environment like FL Studio.
My guess is that the tutorials you have seen are using "MIDI Sequencing", in which case you could try https://musescore.org or Cakewalk by BandLab.

Don't save projects or files there. The "Program Files (x86)" folder is for programs only, not data.JoshuaBecomes wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 10:35 pmsaving the files to my computer in the Audacity section under Program Files (x86)
Try saving in the "Documents" folder, or a sub-directory of the "Documents" folder.

Re: Can't use Audacity with jamulus
I've never used Jamulus, but I'd imagine that strange bad things could happen if the ping time to the server is not quick enough to keep the system synchronized.

Re: Import file dialog unresponsive in 2.4.1
Most of my dropdown menus are entirely out of whack with the rest of the theme WxWidgets uses the operating systems "widgets" whenever possible, which means that some parts of the interface take their visual appearance from the Desktop theme rather than the Audacity theme. Because of this...

Re: 2.4.2 Startup Failure on MacOS 10.13.6
As you may have guessed, this is not a "normal" problem, and there's no obvious reason why it's not working, so Koz and I are digging around looking for clues. since I wiped the disk and reinstalled a clean copy of OSX a few months ago. Why did you do that? Was it to fix a problem? I don't...

Re: Export Overwrite File Name Change Problem
I'm not able to reproduce the result that you are describing. This is what I see, and is what should happen with current versions of Audacity: 1. Create a new empty folder 2. Launch Audacity 3. Record something 4. "Export WAV" and export the recording as "atest.wav" into the fold...

Re: Import file dialog unresponsive in 2.4.1
We have heard of multiple problems in recent Audacity builds, causing a variety of problems. The main issues are: * Building with the wrong version of wxWidgets (Should be wx3.1) * Building with the wrong version of GTK (should be GTK2) * Building with automake (should build with cmake) * Running in...

Re: Frustrated Trying To Install Audacity - 0xc000007b Error
Your version of "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable" may be too old. Check on the Microsoft website for an updated version. Please note that Audacity now only officially supports Windows 10, though we hear that many Windows 7/8/8.1 users are able to successfully run Audacity 2.4.2. We ar...
