Does your sound card support "What U Hear"? Many modern laptops do not. USB audio devices do not (unless you use a loopback connector).

Re: Slowed down recording (and fixing it)?
This is strange - there has recently been a spate of people having this problem, but just in the last month or so. I'm presuming that you're using Audacity 1.2.6? Re: Mike wont work and cant play files
When I try the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner I get five options -Sound Manager-Multimedia-Windows Medial Player-Sound Recorder - Volume Control. Re: Mike wont work and cant play files
You probably can't. Some audio device drivers don't support it - particularly on Vista. Use the Windows Mixer instead (as it says in the Audacity wiki)EdLDV wrote:Any ideas how I could get to access this Input Selector?

Re: Problem with the Change Tempo tool
i used cooledit to do this before, it was accurate to millisecond Yep, those guys at Syntrillium did some real clever programming. It's a shame they didn't make it open source rather than selling it for huge wads of cash to Adobe. Audacity uses the Soundtouch library for time stretching, as does Re...

Re: Voice Recorders
AGC is ok for quick 'n' dirty recordings, but if you want good quality, turn it off and set the level manually. The foam thing will help stop pops (not as good as a separate pop shield, but I agree it's more convenient - also offers a little protection if you drop the thing, which of course you want...
