Re: Fixing Noisey Audio

There's not a great deal you can do, but one thing that probably will help is to use the Equalizer effect and lower the lowest frequencies (below about 150Hz) to minimum. This will at least remove some of the deep bass wind noise that is no doubt booming away on your recording. You may need to exper...

Re: Audacity karaoke question

Just had a thought about the speed drift issue. If you are recording at 48000Hz, try changing it to 44100. If you are recording at 44100, try changing it to 48000. Some sound cards are "happier" at one sample rate than the other. To change the default sample rate in Audacity, select "...

Re: Audacity karaoke question

I have an Audigy 2zs notebook laptop card, possibley not the cheapest or worst I agree that it is surprising that the speed should drift so much with this sound card - it usually only happens this noticeably on low end sound cards such as are often employed as "on-board" sound. The thing ...

Re: MP3 Export unreasonably long.

Audacity uses LAME for encoding MP3's, as do several other programs. It is therefore possible that you could have more than one version of LAME installed on your computer. My suggestion: If you know where you originally put the LAME encoder, remove it, then: On the main Audacity web site there are l...

Re: Possible to Enter a New Predefined Equalization Curve?

I installed 1.3.5 Just to let you know in advance - there are a couple of bugs that have been reported that you may run into: 1) Select an effect. Click "Preview" and listen to the preview. Cancel the effect. Audacity may crash. 2) Preview an Equalization setting. Change the Equalization ...

Re: how can i control where a copied clip gets pasted?

For example, say I have 2 tracks of audio and I want a section of both of them to repeat - let's say I want from 0:00 to 0:05 to be copied and pasted so it plays again from 0:05 to 0:10. I select the desired section of the 2 tracks - now what? Select "Repeat" from the "Effects" ...

Re: Audacity karaoke question

But what I would like to have is Audacity ALLOW me to pick an input FOR EACH TRACK, to start with. So it would record say WAVE in track 1, and Mic on Track 2, with separate controls. But I suppose that's not possible, Yes it IS possible, and I've taken the time to type out the precise method to ena...

Re: Lost Audio while using Audacity.

Try downloading this file - it is a standard "16 bit 44.1 kHz WAV" file. http://easyspacepro.com/audacity/examples/piano.wav Open Audacity, and from the "File" menu, select "Import" and import that file. Does it play? Need to know. Software playthough ... Checked Shoul...

Re: High Pass filter on multiple files equalizes their lengt

I assume I would need to understand the Nyqvist language to write my own chain No not at all, it is quite simple really. The hardest bit is setting the Equalizer. It is probably easiest to make your Equalizer settings first. Here's a screenshot that may help (click on it to view full size) Screensh...

Re: Program Shuts Down

You could perhaps have a corrupt download of Audacity, in which case you should uninstall, manually remove the audacity.cfg file, download Audacity again and re-install. Alternatively it could be a conflict with another program. What is the file name in the message? That may give a clue where the pr...
