Re: No mic input?
It sounds like you may have a bad microphone lead. Is it just an ordinary computer microphone that you are using? Can you test the microphone out on another computer? Can you borrow a microphone to try? It would be helpful if we can narrow down the problem, otherwise we will probably end up chasing ...

Re: Recording problems
The trouble is that not all sound card control panels / mixers are the same. Do you know how to take "screen shots" from your computer? Press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard (this copies the screen to the clipboard), then open any "Paint" type application and...

Re: Numark TTUSB + Audacity + MacBook Pro laptop OS X 5.5
But from I read in the forums, this seems not to be linked to MACs only, right? PC users seem to have that problem to. Oh yes, there's plenty of PC users that have problems with USB turntables. The problem is typically bursts of static like noise that happens randomly. Some users have it worse than...

Re: Audacity karaoke question
Congratulations, I'm glad you got a good result :D I still would like to get a recording software that can have specific input on a per track basis, rather than one input only, Audacity can record up to 16 tracks at the same time - that's 16 inputs onto 16 tracks of their own, all at the same time -...

Re: Duplicate attribute in edited project file?
Heck I don't know, I let Audacity do all that clever stuff :D If you make a copy of the file and post it as an attachment I'll have a look. (you may need to change the file extension to .txt for the forum software to accept it). I'm certainly not making any promises here - this is a very grey area. ...

Re: Recording at a slower or faster Playback Speed
Oh that's good. There is very little loss in sound quality using "Change Speed", since it's just resampling and does not need to stretch the sound.Sevah wrote:I actually found that instead choosing the Change speed... is what i wanted.

Re: Lost Audio while using Audacity.
Sorry, I didn't make it clear in the previous post, this wav file did produce any sounds, although it looked like it was according to the bouncing green bars. I presume you mean £this wav file did not produce any sounds," Well all the settings look right in Audacity - you are running XP, so th...

Re: buzz when recording bass in audacity
So I went ahead and just reinstalled the operating system and installed an older driver. This seems to have solved the problem. I tried moving to the newer version again just to see if I could verify that that was the problem, and yes it caused the buzz to come back. So it seems it was a driver iss...

Re: Duplicate attribute in edited project file?
I guess it will, but I'm a Linux user (ex Windows user), but not Mac.tnelson wrote:Will TextEdit work? I don't have the files on this machine, so can't check.
Which editors do you have in mind?
I'd use G-Edit or Scite, but that's on Linux.
