Yes. If you are making audio CD's, it is generally best to use 16 bit 44100 Hz stereo wav files. With some CD burning software it is essential to do so.

Re: audacity speeds up when i record!

Have a look here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6680 There have been a spate of these problems recently - I'm wondering if there is some common denominator such as hardware. I doubt that it is Audacity, as the 1.2 version has been unchanged for ages, so it would not explain ...

Re: Audacity, 2 mics, record in mono? HELP pls.

They are small, very convenient, excellent sound quality, and you can dump the recordings to your computer via USB for editing wit...

Re: Broadcast Quality Digital Recorder Recommendation

The paper specifications look similar. The Zoom has 4 microphones, making it configurable for different pick-up patterns, including 4 channel surround. The Olympus comes with 2GB flash memory as standard, whereas the Zoom has only 512MB (upgraded mine to 2 GB for £17 GBP). The Olympus is a fair bit ...

Re: Lost Audio while using Audacity.

I think I would be looking at the sound card drivers and either uninstalling/re-installing them, or uninstalling/updating them.
