Re: Record audio from other applications?

For most applications, you can set Audacity to record "What U Hear" / "Stereo Mix" (providing that this is supported by your sound card)

Re: Displaying a timer

In Audacity 1.3.5 you will see the current play position time in the "Selection Toolbar" (by default at the bottom of the Audacity window. It is not BIG as in Audition/Cool Edit Pro, but it is there.

Re: Adding Bookmarks Externally

urrently I have one minor audacity-related issue. I create label files to show all the changes I've made. When first import lables they exactly match the wave file as you would expect. But if I delete anything in the wav file (e.g. if I spot a click that was 'too big' for my algorithm to handle and...

Re: Can't import flac

I'm not on my Windows machine at the moment, so can't give detailed description of SUPER. Could you upload a couple of examples onto the internet somewhere and post links. Choose 2 files that appear identical, but where one works in Audacity and one doesn't - I'll have a look and see if I can spot a...

Re: Recorded tracks not syncing up

Does this relate to the issue manguiko ? This is all fine, so long as the latency remains constant throughout the recording. Re: Bad Right channel

When I imported an MP3, the right channel is loaded with noise. I can only hear the recorded audio if I slide the channel selector all the way to the "L". Is this just with one particular file, or is it with all audio? Can the right channel be deleted Yes. Click on the name of the file, t...

Re: Audacity doesn't record anything at all

Apologies - I'm not a Vista user, so I'm just guessing.
Try selecting the "Stereo Mix" in your picture and see if you can get it to show "Properties" - you may need to adjust the recording level.

Re: Using Audacity to record songs

Audacity is an excellent free multi-track recorder and editor, but as with any other software, if the signal that you are recording is noisy, or poor quality, then you may not be able to get very good results. You can't expect to get studio quality from a $5 computer microphone. Make sure that the r...

Re: Multiple export produces one file zero bytes

Try upgrading to Audacity 1.2.6 or 1.3.5 - version 1.2.4 is ancient.
