Re: Attenuating cable?
If your "Line in" really is a "Line level input", then just an ordinary lead should work, but you will need to keep the volume level from the portable player fairly low. Using an attenuator cable should do no harm, but you will need to turn the portable player up a little, and ma...

Re: Recording from turntables to PC problems
I thought the easiest way would be to use the record (which i would presume to be an output) Not necessarily - it may be an input. On my mixing desk there are 2 pairs of connectors labelled "Tape" - one pair also marked "In" and the other pair "out". The "Tape-in&...

Re: Recording Vonage Telephone Calls
Recording Vonage telephone calls is not something that I've tried, but I notice quite a few people have trouble with getting both sides of the call to record clearly. Some voip software comes with its own call recording software, and this is generally far more successful than a normal audio recorder...

Re: Two major problems
Ever since I installed Audacity, I noticed two major problems. When I record something, it slows down the actual recording. I have to go to Effect - Change Speed and put in 7.000 to make it the correct speed. Try changing the default sample rate - if it is set at 44100, change it to 48000. If set t...
