Have a look at the Tutorials and Tips in the Audacity wiki (link at top of page).
BTW, it is generally considered bad manners to type all in upper case on web forums.

Re: Tempo Version 1.34
The Ubuntu Intrepid build of Audacity (1.3.5) works pretty well on Hardy (Ubuntu 8.04) and has all the time stretch functions working. In that version, there is a bug in "effects preview" that affects most machines, - if you preview an effect, then cancel, Audacity may crash. The workaroun...

Can you uninstall/remove your existing copy of Audacity from your computer? If so, remove it, then download Audacity 1.3.5 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ Have you seen / tried the tutorials on the Audacity wiki? Are you getting any indication on the record meter in Audacity when you try to record? If so, what level?

Re: Making muliple cds from one recording
Also how long does it usually take for files to be converted from WAV file to Cd?? That depends on a few factors: How well do you know the software, and how nifty you are clicking the right keys. Quality of the CD. Speed of the CD writer. Speed of computer. With a good quality CD, you should, with ...

Re: Making voice recording sound awesome
I'm recording in my room, which is fairly noisy for an audio booth. Anything you can do about that? If you have to use noise reduction, you're putting yourself one notch behind before you've done anything else. What is your background noise level metering at, and what is your peak recording level (...

Re: Unwanted echo effect recording Stereo/mono mix
I suspect that it is a sound system set-up problem rather than Audacity.
To test if that is the case, try recording with Windows Sound Recorder and see if you get the same problem.

Re: Can I have playback auto-scroll, with a static cursor?
In Audacity 1.3.5, you can click on the scroll bar below the track window to "nudge it on".
Also Ctrl+M drops a marker at the current position.
If that's not enough, post a suggestion in the "Feature Request" section.
