Re: how do i get started
You could look in the Audacity wiki (link at top of page), or you could post a specific question in the appropriate part of the forum. Without knowing anything about your set up (not even what operating system you are using, or which version of Audacity), I can't really help. I suggest you look at t...

Re: HELP! Recording Cassette Tapes
The tutorials in the Audacity wiki is probably a good starting point. http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tutorials For Windows, I would suggest that you use either Audacity 1.2.6 or 1.3.5 as these are the current versions. They can be downloaded from the main Audacity web site: http://auda...

Re: How to i apply this effect to my recordings?
That is not just a simple sound effect, but quite a lot of manipulation. It sounds like they have made heavy use of resonant filters, possibly an auto-tune effect, and reverb. Here a little sample (attached) of a similar (but different) effect using Audacity 1.3.5 The method used here was: 1) Record...

Re: Automatic Timed Recording in Mono?
QUESTION 1 - Does Audacity have the capability to record my 3 files per day based on the PC's clock? ... QUESTION 2 - Can I save the files as 128kbps 44.1k (or 32k) sampled MONO mp3 files? Audacity 1.3.5 has the ability to do ONE timed recording. You just set the start date and time, and either the...

Re: How to cut files in pieces for embedding in PowerPoint
However, I selected the imported wav file and opened it with Windows Media Player just to make sure things were OK and got no sound. But they play OK if you import them back into Audacity, or play them in FooBar2000 or another good audio player? You may have exported in a format that is not support...

Re: Playback goes out of sync after stopping recording
If the speed is drifting (as opposed to being the same amount out of sync all through), then it's likely to be due to your sound card. Sometimes recording at a different sample rate improves things (Edit > Preferences > Quality). If that doesn't fix it you could try updating / down-dating the sound ...
