Re: WAV file OK, double-speed MP3

I wonder if it could be the lame_enc.dll file. That's possible - you could try downloading a fresh copy from the link on this page: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Lame_Installation#Windows_Instructions In step 6 of the installations instructions, be sure to select the new version of L...

Re: "file not well formed in line 6" error?

No it's not "random" - it is due to using invalid characters - as already described in this thread. Restrict yourself to using numbers, upper and lower case letters, hyphen and underscore for all file names. Note that there is a known issue regarding the use of [, ], Z, J, K, L, P, R, Home...

Re: Audacity won't open

It's probably not the VST bridge itself that is causing the problem, but nevertheless related to the VST bridge. When the VST bridge is installed, it will look for any VST effects installed on your computer, and make them available for Audacity. The problem is that not all VST plugins are compatible...

Re: Unable to hear my guitar while recording...please assist

I can't help much with Vista as I don't use it (got fed up with Microsoft and switched to Linux, though I still use also XP as I've got a lot of old software that runs on it). However, there is some additional help for Vista in the Audacity wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_...

Re: Can't Get Metadata To Work

Unfortunately there are many different "standards" used for metadata tags. Audacity 1.3.x can try to implement metadata tags across all formats on all platforms, but is doomed to fail. For people that need to use metadata tags, Audacity can offer a limited amount of functionality for forma...

Re: Audacity not loading song right?

Does this happen with all mp3's, or is just a specific file that you have this problem with?
How about WAV files, do they play OK?

Re: How would I get effects that mimic the Subdecay Noise Bo

I don't think a Ring Mod would do the trick Neither do I. There are LOTS of free effects available for Audacity as plug-ins http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Plug-ins though I don't know of any single effects that emulate the Subdecay Noise Box. After all, that is the main selling point ...

Re: Audacity won't open

Have you tried resetting Audacity preferences?
In Audacity 1.2.x, preferences are in the registry, but in 1.3.x they are in a configuration file.
For details, see here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... references

Re: Unable to hear my guitar while recording...please assist

It is so helpful that you have given such a clear description of what you are doing :) I am assuming that the sound card that you are plugging into is an internal sound card. In order to hear your bass, without having to use software playthrough, you need to configure your sound card. This is not do...
