Re: [issue]constant jack connections

when people have to shut down sound servers before using Audacity, it's said that setting the conflicting application to use the ALSA default device (as well as Audacity) may let Audacity share the device via dmix. Can JACK be configured like that to solve the ("have to shut JACK first") ...

Re: 1.3.6 beta install // all ladspa plug-ins gone

Normally all plug-ins for Audacity should be in the Audacity plug-ins folder. The fact that it was working previously on your machine with them in a different folder is a little non-standard. I think it makes sense that plug-ins are required to be in the Audacity plug-ins folder, since some LADSPA a...

Re: No Audio on PC After Using Audacity HELP

Wonder why I could hear that and nothing else? The software (an Internet browser plug-in?) that was playing the YouTube video must be accessing the sound card directly, rather than through the Windows Sound Mapper. The problem is caused by Windows mapping sound input and output to the USB port, whi...

Re: Please help eliminate applause

It should work fine with GVerb, but you may have to play around with the settings a bit.

My guess would be something like:

Room size ~ 150 m
Reverb time ~ 2.5 seconds
Damping ~ 0.5
Input bandwidth ~ 0.75
Dry signal at minimum. (-70dB)
Early Reflection and Tail Level, both ~ -12 dB

Re: Unable to Record Internet Radio via Behringer UCA202

Use a phono/phono lead to connect the output of the UCA 202 to the input of the UCA 202. This is known as a loopback connection, and it will enable you to record the output of the UCA202 through the input of the UCA 202.

Re: 1.3.6 beta install // all ladspa plug-ins gone

Audacity 1.3.6 orders plug-ins in categories, I think they should still be present, but their location will have changed.
I can't give much more insight at the moment as I've only just started looking at 1.3.6 myself.

Re: kbps

I suspect that your client may also rquire this as CBR (constand bit-rate) so make sure the Constant radio button is selected. Variable Bit Rate (VBR) will generally produce better sound quality at an equivalent file size, so it will be worth checking with your client if they want VBR or CBR. CBR i...

Re: Website

Have you been scammed by someone selling Audacity? If so, I would complain to them in the strongest terms, but it is not Audacity, not the Audacity web-site and it is not this help forum that are charging you. These are all free (though you can support Audacity by purchasing from the Audacity shop, ...

Re: Please help eliminate applause

Well done for just uploading the relevant section as a small clip and not the whole track ;) Using Audacity 1.3.5 (easier to handle audio clips with 1.3.x) - will probably also work in 1.2.6, but if not, grab a copy of 1.3.x (1.3.6 is now available, it seems to be very good, but I've not done much t...
