How are you "Exporting"?
I presume that you are using "Export Selected" from the File menu?
If so, how do you ensure that you have selected from precisely 0.000 seconds?

Re: Recordings are distorted and full of bass
Not much to go on there. What sort of microphone? Speaking or singing? What is the microphone plugged into? How far from your mouth is the microphone?..... If you are using a cheap headset microphone, it is difficult, near impossible, to get voice recordings that sound anything other than rubbish. T...

Re: 1.3.5 problems exporting, wav files end up blank
It seems very odd that you are continually getting "dead space" at the beginning of WAV files. I have never had that occur, ever, with any version of Audacity, and I've been using it for years on both Windows and Linux, so I'm something of a loss why you are experiencing it. If I export a ...

and it saved fine onto my usb stick ... That worries me. You saved what on your USB stick? Did you Export the audio as a WAV or MP3 and save that on your USB stick, or did you attempt to save an Audacity Project? As you will see from reading this: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=File_M...

Re: Pitch and Voice Stress
One of the classic tools for voice analysis is the spectrogram. You can select that view of a track from the drop down menu when you click on the track name. You will probably want to increase the frequency response of the spectrogram view - the setting for this is in the Audacity Preferences (from ...

Re: Trim MP3 problem on Mac & Win
Effects menus and most edit menus are greyed out until you have selected some audio. Click on a track in the left hand information box (at the left side of the track) to select the track. Ctrl+A selects All Click and drag to select part of a track. Have a look at the "tutorials" and "...

Re: Copying mp3s in correct order
When you view the files, order them by date rather than by name. You should then see them in the correct order (or reverse, depending on if you order in ascending or descending order) .

Re: .au files disappearing
You may well have problems if you try working on a network drive. If possible, keep all of your files on the local machine. Also, back up your work by exporting each track as a WAV file.
