Re: The dreaded USB Turntable with added USB preamp?
though I need an upgrade on my ancient, yet serviceable SB Live card. Don't get rid of that card. They may be old, but they're great for doing music with and work very nicely with Audacity. Forget about the mic. in on the SB Live, it's rubbish. Use only the Line in. Configure the card to play throu...

Re: Cannot set / adjust input Level
Are you, by any chance, using a USB device for input? Oops - didn't read his post ;) The mixer toolbar is a tool of convenience when it is supported by the operating system and sound card driver. That usually excludes USB audio devices and Vista, but can also mean other sound cards on other systems...

To monitor this you need to select Pre-Fader Level (PFL) for that channel. The level should be adjusted so that it comes close to 0dB but without d...
Re: Sound pan
Check your speakers and the wiring first (try using headphones).
If you still have a problem, look in the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the clock) and check that you do not have something set panned to one side.

Re: Exporting a file to use on CD player
You have made a "Data CD" instead of an "Audio CD".mkrocket wrote:It will work on the computer, so it does record. I noticed the files are PCM files.
You need to set your CD burning program to make an "audio CD".
