Re: Question about Normalization (how does it work in Audaci

Changing the stereo image is show damage, and better, it's damage that you can't readily recover from without UNDO. You can "recover" from it just by adjusting the "pan" position. I must admit, I am not entirely clear on what "DC offset" is. DC_offset.png Am I correct ...

Re: JUST HOW DO I GET STARTED?

the magnetic output from the turntable is very low Yes that is normal. The Behringer UCA 202 is designed for "Line level" signals, which are much higher than the output from a turntable. The UCA 202 input is very much like a tape or CD input on an amplifier. I guess I could plug the turnt...

Re: Can't seem to fix speed of exported .mp3

I brought the file back into Audacity, and it still seemed to play fine. The file probably is fine. There are many different flavours of MP3. Diferent compression settings, mono, stereo, VBR, CBR, ABR. Not all players can play all types of MP3 correctly. If you are having problems with the Audacity...

Re: Wave form does not come up

Oh, well that's a lot more than a few MB's. Don't get your hopes up too much though. Yes there is a slim chance that you could recover the project, it has been done before, but not very often. Here's all the information we have on the subject: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=CrashRecovery

Possibly the last remaining fragments of what was your show.
For a 2 hour show there should be well over a GB - a few MB's is hardly a significant portion.

Re: Recorded tracks FADE OUT automatically

I can sing a constant loud sound and the sound will not fade. If however I sing a very soft sustained tone, the sound will die away quickly to complete silence. Any ideas on why? Your sound card has a noise gate effect enabled. I came across this on a machine recently - instead of just having one l...

Also, try Audacity 1.3.6 , it has better hardware support than the old 1.2.6 version.

Re: Playback Trouble with Audacity

I think that some of the noises that I could hear are just "handling" noise when you are holding the microphone, and vibrations picked up through the mic stand from the desk/table. But then there are the noises that you get only on the Mac. Some of the strange sounds could perhaps have bee...
