Re: Centering a selection around a cursor point
Audacity 1.3.x does this sort of thing much better than Audacity 1.2.6 Press the F5 key to switch to the "Time Shift Tool" (F1 key to go back to the normal "Selection" tool) Click on some audio in a track and drag it left/right. If you have multiple tracks, you will see that the ...

Re: Gverb - permenantly change default settings?
As far as I know, G-Verb always returns to its default settings with no way of changing these defaults.

Re: problem importing audio with unicode filename
Are you sure that you installed the unicode version?
You should be using the "Windows 2000/XP/Vista: Audacity 1.3.6 installer (.exe file, 4.1 MB)" version from this page: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows

Re: No sound on vista
The sound system in Vista is weird (horrible) when it comes to recording.

Re: Track Mixing
Audacity will mix down all the clips to a single file when you Export the audio. The sample rate of the Exported audio will be the same as the "Project Sample Rate" which is selected in the box at the bottom left of the main Audacity screen. A good sample rate for the project would be 4410...

Re: Excessive gain when recording from turntable
I'm recording from the 'Recorder' (ie Tape Out) from my V10 amp to the line-in of the onboard Realtek AC97 soundcard on my server. Check he specification of your sound card. It sounds like the input is a microphone input, not a line level input. If this is the case, then any sound card that has a l...

Re: Question using time tracks
Yes you can, but: a) You have posted in the wrong part of the forum - Audacity 1.2.x does not support Time Tracks. b) It requires direct editing of the Audacity Project (AUP) file, which is not recommended unless you have a thorough understanding of how they work (otherwise you are very likely to de...

Re: audacity wont record
By default, Windows Sound Recorder is limited to recording a maximum of 60 seconds, but if Windows Sound Recorder works, then we can most likely help you to get Audacity working. If Windows Sound Recorder does not work, then the problem is not with Audacity, but with your computer sound system. If t...

Re: Kill Forums
I would tend to agree with you Koz. I think it is good to have forum areas where Audacity users can discuss things other than the usual user problems, but as the forum is primarily a help forum this may not be the best place. For 99.9% of forum users, the needs would probably be best met by trimming...
