Re: Audacity 1.3.5 Beta Vocal Removal
I'm new to Audacity and I'm trying to use the Vocal Removal tool. After going to Effects and selecting the option nothing happens. Is a window supposed to pop up? I don't see anything happen so am wondering how to utilize the tool. Thanks, Siva Instructions: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?t...

Re: Sometimes silent speakers
When you plug in a USB audio device, Windows will assume that the USB device is going to handle ALL of the audio input and output - in effect this disables your other sound card. If you go into the Windows Control Panel and look in the section "Sounds and Audio Devices" you can select your...

How about just marking the position of the mistake with Ctrl+M then carrying on and when you have finished, go back and correct all the mistakes.

I'm from germany and sometimes my english sucks! Not at all, your English is very good ;) Controls are all turned up. You've missed one. In the picture http://pic.leech.it/i/d2df1/f20714dbaudio.jpg I see that you are recording from the microphone input and have the main microphone (Mikrofon) input ...

Re: What's the difference between the dithers for recording?
The "Real-Time Conversion" can be set to "Fast sinc / Dither none"
This will make no difference to the finished product, but will give marginally better performance.
Other than that your settings are fine.

Re: Runtime Error on Install
Strange - can you do a system restore to a time when Audacity was working, and then reinstall?

Re: The Girls' Guide to USB Turntable-to-Computer Recording
Not everyone has the problems with their USB connection (and the USB option is great if it works), but for Mac users that do have the problem, this is the way to go. It's really important to not mix up the colors..red goes with red, white with white. I don't know what will happen if you mix them up,...

Re: ffmpeg question
I've not yet got it working myself, but just seen this post that may be of help: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... 245#p29157
I presume that you built Audacity 1.3.6 from source? It looks like you have to specify ffmpeg support in the ./configure options.

Re: Recording Midi
Sorry, Audacity cannot play, edit, or convert MIDI files. It can only display them visually (for comparison with recorded sounds). We might add MIDI editing to a future version of Audacity, but for now Audacity is focused on sampled audio (like WAV files). http://audacityteam.org/manual/index.php?t...
