Re: Chains: Best way to delete the telephone "hang-up click"

Hi, I have a large number of recorded phone messages I am processing. What is the best way, using chains, to delete the hang-up sound at the end? I don't think that there is a best way to do it with chains, or in fact any way to do it with chains. In my opinion, the best way is to manually trim off...

Re: Gentlest way to squeeze a CD?

Sorry, Koz, no compris. Are you saying, go to 22K sampling rate? Or, what precisely? He's saying that Audio CD's are 16bit 44100Hz stereo always . Some CD burning software will accept other formats (Nero will accept MP3's), but when they burn it as an audio CD, they must convert it to 16 bit 44100H...

Re: I can't (can not) find the rules of the forum

There are no specific rules, although most forums have a similar general code of conduct. Things that are generally frowned upon: Blatant advertising that has nothing to do with the forum (spamming) - this will get you banned in about 5 seconds - we don't want sex aids or get rich quick schemes or t...

Re: Megaman/X sounds I got from damagedgames website

how do I change the 8 bit to 5 bit Why do you want to do that - the sound quality of 5 bit audio will be extremely poor - worse than a telephone, and it is a very strange format to use for anything. Audacity is probably not the best tool for this (assuming that you actually want to do what you are ...

Re: Changing pitch causes track to not line up

Like lets say the first chorus I change the pitch of a couple notes, that section lines up but later in the song (let's say the interlude) for some reason it's off enough to noticably hear that the lead and backup vocals don't start and stop at the same time. Are you sure that they line up correctl...

Re: How to have equal stereo sound

And I'm wondering how to have these other portions of audio to have the same stereo sound without applying effects on them. That's a bit of a contradiction. If you increase the stereo spread, then that is an "effect". I guess what you mean is that you want to increase the stereo spread wi...

Re: ECHO

I paid for my version, Who did you pay? Did you make a donation ? Audacity is free software. What's the point if you can't sing, talk or play an instrument at all 'cause the echo throws the time off. There would clearly be no point at all, but it is most likely a set up problem rather than a fault ...

Re: Massive Distortion/Digitization

Koz' comment alludes to the fact that the kosher Fraunhofer MP3s may be better audio quality than those produced by LAME Although my own listening experience, and many recent indipendent tests, would indicate that the Fraunhofer encoder is not significantly better or worse than LAME. For a long tim...
