Re: Behringer UMC404HD Driver 3.29
The main thing that I'm concerned about is that there's a lot of websites that offer drivers without any security checks, so people can easily be tricked into installing trojans or other hard to detect malware on their computers. I would strongly advise: "Never install anything unless you are c...

Re: Recognising USB microphone
I'm wondering if I should uninstall the programme and then re-install - if so which website would you recommend I log onto to do this? This is the official Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/ The download links direct to "FossHub", who are the only official download location f...

Re: Behringer UMC404HD Driver 3.29
Are you saying that with driver version 3.29 that you get an option to record 4 channels simultaneously?
On the Behringer website, I see a choice of either version "4.59.0 (for Windows 7 to 10)" or version "2.29.0 for Windows XP +Vista".
I don't see a version "3.29".

Re: One channel on one PC, two channels on another...
There's a setting in the Windows Sound Control panel (where the recording devices are listed). Unfortunately Microsoft keep moving things around and hiding things, but you're looking for something like this: wscp.png Select the device that corresponds to the Behringer's channels 1&2 and select &...

Re: Audacity being unbearably slow.
First thing to try: Completely shut down the computer (not just "sleep") and then reboot, then launch Audacity and see if the problem is still there.

Re: OGG file how to
This segmented the file into 1 second segments, which I found to behave the same as described above; namely, not opening in Audacity or Quicktime, but opening in VLC. Attached is one of those segments. m024.ogg That opens up for me with Audacity 2.4.2 on Linux. Remind me - This is the forum board f...

Re: Random pops and clicks in recording and playback
To help narrow down the root of the problem, try making a test recording in Windows Sound Recorder.
