Re: Can Wav individual Wav files be Exported as 24 bit
24 bit WAV is not very widely used, so it is not one of the main options, but it is still there: Export Selected Select "WAV AIFF and other uncompressed types" Click on "Options" In the "Format" field, select "Other..." In the "Header" field select &...

Re: Severe 'drop-outs' when recording (Aud. 1.2.4)
Try disconnecting from your network (physically) and disable your anti-virus program, then try Audacity. Anti-virus programs can sometimes cause problems by checking every data file while you are recording, causing an unacceptable overhead. Also I seem to remember someone having a similar problem to...

Re: Recording Problems, Help Me?
and plugged into my PC using the Microphone input. That is an immediate problem. You need to plug into a "line input" not a "mic input". If your computer is a full size one, there should be a line input. If it is a laptop you will probably need to use an external USB audio devic...

Re: Preferences, Dreaded Windows Registry or CFG file?
My understanding is that if you have previously installed 1.2.x on a windows machine with its preferences stored in the registry and then install 1.3 - Audacity will then copy the preferences from the registry and use these as its initial settings for the 1.3 audacity.cfg file. I'm not sure that al...

Re: What's the best way to convert .flac into mp3?
Using Audacity:
Import the FLAC file.
Export as MP3.
Not sure why you want to do this though - FLAC files are better quality than MP3 (lossless compression, so they are just as good as WAV files, but half the size).

First, sorry about the confusing of posting three times in the different threads. No worries mate, we encourage single posting only so as to keep the topics clear and reduce confusion. Are there any resources on high pass filters on the net just so I can understand a little better why the audio is ...

Re: How would i make a classic rock sound
My preferred method is to mic up the amp, though there's no harm in trying other methods and seeing which gives the best results. Note that if you mic up the amp, the microphone position will make quite a lot of difference. Having the microphone close to the speaker will generally give you more bott...
