Re: Vista 64 bit--Audacity freezes on Record
There are a number of Vista specific issues described on this page of the Audacity wiki: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS Also, several users of Vista 64 have reported problems with Audacity 1.2.6 which have been solved by upgrading to Audacity 1.3.6 (in addition to foll...

Re: Synthesizer USB connection
stearman65, I hate to dampen your enthusiasm, but suggesting that it is possible to record a Korg X50 synthesizer through its USB connector is incorrect and will only confuse Jonny El. I quote from the X50 manual (page 14) The USB connector of the X50 is only able to transmit and receive MIDI data. ...

Re: VST Enabler
The VST's in FruityLoops could very well be the problem. You only need one incompatible VST installed on your computer (anywhere on your computer) and it can completely screw up Audacity.

Re: Unable to see wave form?
Try using the "Amplify" effect to make the waveform bigger. If this works, then it is not a real solution, but indicates that the cause of the problem is that your recording level is way too low and you need to turn the recording level up. What are you recording from? What sound card do yo...

Re: Synthesizer USB connection
That is not correct stearman65. The USB connector on a Korg X50 is a MIDI interface and not an audio interface.
http://www.korg.co.uk/products/pro_keyb ... pk_x50.aspThe X50 also provides a USB connector that lets you establish MIDI connections with your computer using a single cable

Re: Clipfix (see waveform pic) - plugins available?
I just run Clipfix on small selections in a recording instead of the entire wavefile. Is there something wrong with this? Not at all, that's exactly how I use it, and it is how the ClipFix effect recommends that you should use it. The only proviso is that ClipFix requires that there is sufficient h...

Re: Distortion in Windows Media Player after making edits in
Audacity is one of the easiest and most comprehensive audio programs around - it is also the cheapest ;) I use Audacity to edit recordings from my Zoom H2 and find it perfect for the job. This thread has gone on for quite a while now and I've lost track of what difficulties you are having, but if yo...

Re: Synthesizer USB connection
The USB connector on the Korg is NOT and audio connector, it is a midi connector. The midi connector will allow communication of midi data between the Korg and midi programs on your computer (for example software synths and midi sequencers). It does not send or receive audio through the USB connecti...

Re: Lost audio after upload
The AUP file is not audio. It is part of an Audacity Project - the rest of the project is made up of data files. In order to create an audio file that can be imported into iTunes (or burned to CD, or played in a media player...) you need to Export from Audacity to create an audio file (for example a...

Re: TimeLine Overshoot
Since as far as I know all the generate functions are "flat" and don't change over time, you wouldn't need timeline overshoot Taking the example of a 30 minute track, if you want to generate "Chirp" from 29 minutes to 31 minutes (overwriting the last 1 minute of the original tra...
