rapidly record and playback, then record again
I'd just do:
  • R (record)
  • Space (Stop)
  • Space (Play)
  • R (record)
  • Space (Stop)
  • Space (Play)
  • ...
but if that doesn't suit your workflow, then feel free to do it some other way.

when I highlight and remove a section,
How are you removing the section? If you "cut" the section, then a copy remains on the clipboard, but if you "delete" a section then it doesn't.

Re: "Cannot load file" error pop up

There should be a "_data" folder:
data.png
data.png (20.73 KiB) Viewed 24 times
To recover the project, you need to find that folder and ensure that it is in the correct place (as shown above)

I have my UMC404HD recording 4 tracks to Audacity successfully
Any news from Behringer about making drivers available for 4 channel recording (without ASIO)?

I can just go in and split the stereo track into 2 mono tracks, but I'd rather not have to do it each time. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Yes. Update to Audacity 2.4.2: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/

tone does not seem the same on recording as raw signal
Are you comparing like with like?
How are you listening to "raw signal" and how are you listening to "recording"?

Re: Female voice quality - equalisation advice appreciated

The basic quality is as before but there's distortion on and after the word "and" (3 seconds from the start). Is she still working too close? I'd be grateful for any thoughts as to the cause. I don't hear "distortion" on the word "and", but there is certainly something...

Re: Having trouble with vocal audio....

the vocals are always too low When I raise the volume levels on the vocals there’s a touch of distortion Audio will distort if you try to push the level over 0 dB. To avoid distortion, the mix level must always be below 0 dB. You could try compressing, or peak limiting the vocals so that they can b...
