Your turntable is USB - you must select the turntable as the recording device, not your sound card.

You've not mentioned what your operating system is, but since Mac and Linux users are usually keen to say that they are using something better than Windows, I'll assume that you are using some version of Windows ;) For Windows you should be using this version of Lame with Audacity 1.3.6 http://lame....

It may be worth trying Audacity 1.3.6 - it handles the sound card a bit differently from 1.2.x, so it's worth trying to see if you get better performance. No need to uninstall 1.2.x, you can have them both installed at the same time. (Audacity 1.3.x can open projects made in v.1.2.x, but Audacity 1....
