Re: I cannot record 2 tracks..

And then this "bad" sound is like what? Does the sound have little gaps and stutters?
Can you upload a short sample onto the internet and post a link on the forum?

Re: Fixing variable sound level (DJ Mix)

I haven't had a listen yet ... That is what it is all about. It looks like it created a few peaks. Are there recommended settings to prevent this? Music is supposed to have peaks - it is only the recent fashion for compressing the life out of music that has produced music without peaks. Have a read...

Re: Too much bass...

I've not got Audacity 1.3.6 installed at the moment, but "Wav (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM" will be the one.
Don't forget to check that the project rate is set to 44100.

Re: Too much bass...

To set the Export format to 44100Hz, just set the "Project Rate" to 44100 before you export. The Project Rate is set in the little box in the bottom left of the main Audacity window. Which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in "Help > About Audacity") If it's Audacity 1.3.x...

Re: what is the best sound card ?

Internal cards often show problems related to the power supply of the computer (e.g. 50 Hz hum). I have often heard of this (mostly in the advertising information for external sound cards), but in my experience with dozens of different sound cards I have never experienced any such problem on full s...

Re: USB Microphone malfunction

If it is difficult to physically get to the USB ports, you can probably configure the devices to work through Vista's Control Panel (though that is probably just as much of a pain in the neck) http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS#Using_the_Control_Panel_to_select.2Fenable_re...

Re: Not recording

Open Audacity, and in the Edit menu select "Preferences" - then on the Audio I/O tab, select "ALSA (default)" as the recording and playback devices. Then restart Audacity. Open up your volume control (double click on the loudspeaker icon in the desktop panel) and go the recording...

Re: mp3 Lame Encoder not found

The previous responders must not realize how many steps can be saved by exporting our sound recordings as MP3 files directly from Audacity. Why can't this problem be solved by Audacity?? :ugeek: Although there are some persistent problems with MP3 export, it works correctly in both Audacity 1.2.6 a...

Re: Audio playback slow and skipping

The skipping is because your computer is running out of steam, or there is a data bottleneck somewhere. What specification is the computer? When did you last defragment the hard drive (Win98 is even more susceptible to poor disk performance due to fragmentation than Windows XP). Keep CPU and memory ...
