Re: Help?

So you have recorded something and you Exported it as an MP3? If not, you need to do that first, and to export an MP3 you need to install LAME (the MP3 encoder) See here for details: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Lame_Installation Now you have an MP3 want to upload it to your website?...

Re: Not recording

but when I went back and tried to download 1.3.5, it started to download it when an error message popped up and said: Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libsound2. You enjoy "learning opportunities" don't you? ;) (I was brand new to Linux a year ago so I know how it feels, but let's se...

Re: Problem with Export Multiple to WMA format

Thanks I understand now, but unfortunately I don't think that it helps us to resolve the problem. It may be that you have discovered a bug (FFMpeg in Audacity is a new feature in Audacity 1.3.6 (beta), so you are part of the testing team). I don't have 1.3.6 on my computer, so I am unable to test th...

Re: Webcam recordings being 'Cut'

If you use a conventional microphone (not a computer mic or a USB mic), then you will need a microphone pre-amp, but I would not choose the Maplins one. The Art Studio V3 s a bit more expensive but is likely to be vastly better quality. It has had some good reviews on this forum as a quality, budget...

Re: Vista Playback Default Format and Audacity

It looks like classic aliasing to me, centered on 1x and 2x the difference between 48000Hz and 44100Hz. So why the distinct double peak, and why not on my computer? In fact, this is the first report of the problem that I've seen. I bet you find signal flat-topping which is what you're really hearin...

Re: How to convert Joint-Stereo to Stereo in Windows MediaPl

This site has been doing listening tests for years - before you look at the results, read the comments on how to interpret them: How to interpret the plots: Each plot is drawn with six codecs on the X axis and the rating given (1.0 to 5.0) on the Y axis. The number of listeners used to compute the m...

Re: keyboard shortcuts

A quick and easy method that may fix the problem;
"Edit menu > Preferences" select the "keyboard" tab and reset the defaults.
