Re: Should I install audacity will it mix songs?
Audacity is an excellent program for this kind of thing, but the problem that you may have is with copy protection on the iTunes songs. If you can get the songs in MP3 or WAV format then you can "Import" them into Audacity, edit them, then "Export" them in WAV format (16 bit 4410...

Re: Removing Metronome clicks from play-along CD's
I doubt that you will be able to eliminate the clicks completely, but it may be possible to reduce them so that they are less annoying. Can you upload a couple of short samples somewhere on the internet and post links to them. One sample of a couple of seconds of the metronome on its own, and a coup...

Re: Trying to clean up 2 broken records
Before using Audacity, is there a way to bond the records back together, then use a stereo microscope to smooth the cracks/chipping by filling then leveling or buffing out the cracks? I don't think so. With Audacity you should be able to achieve some improvement using a combination of filtering and...

Re: can't hear first second of some tracks
During playback or after exporting, very often the first second of a track's audio will not play. And this happens whether you are using Audacity to play back, or if you are playing an Exported audio file in a media player? If that is the case then it is most likely that the problem is with your so...

Re: vinyl to audacity sounds poor
I've tried recording form vinyl (via stanton mixer line out) into the mic on my Powerbook G4 and into audacity. "Into the mic"? You mean that you have a line output from the Stanton into a Microphone input - that will not work correctly - "line level" outputs will severely overl...

Re: Poor podcast audio quality when recording from LP??? Hel
However, when I am producing a podcast and attempt to add audio tracks from the cd players/turntable mixer, the audio quality is terrible. There is no depth or clarity to the sound..just a flat stereo track that sounds very "tinny". And this "tinny" sound is from both your stand...

Re: downloading audacity
As long as the USB works correctly, then for recording it does not matter what sound card you have as the USB replaces the sound card for recording (the sound card is completely bypassed). The reason for the proviso is that we see quite a few reports of problems with USB turntables, though these are...

Re: How to convert Joint-Stereo to Stereo in Windows MediaPl
It might be the best encoder according to them, but they mentioned that its great for VBR. Is it awesome for CBR? If you use the "Insane" preset then Lame will produce 320kbps CBR. This is the best possible sound quality that is supported by MP3. Most of the listening tests are done at hi...
