Re: Click track broken?

Well that rules out one possibility. This is the first report of this problem that I have come across, so we are kind of hunting in the dark. Which version of Audacity are you currently using? I see that you are getting the first output from the Nyquist Debug window, but where are you getting the se...

Re: changing podcast voice to something tolerable

No we're not the "welcoming committee", we're enthusiastic Audacity users, part of a community of people that have interests in audio editing, open source software, and in particular "Audacity". As in every community, not everyone always see eye-to-eye, but we try and keep it fri...

Re: Opening two recordings does not work

Open the first file in Audacity, the use "Import" to import the second file into a new track within the same Audacity Window. Then use the "Time Shift Tool" (double headed horizontal arrow) to drag the second track to the right so that the start of the second track lines up with ...

Re: Can't export full projects to WAV...

Available drive space can be an issue. You should always have 10% or more free drive space on a Windows computer at all times. 4GB is a limit for WAV files - this is nothing to do with Audacity, it is a limit of all WAV files. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV If you have sufficient free drive space,...

What version of LAME do you have?

Also search your computer to see if there are any other versions of Lame present.

Re: Memory growth - ubuntu 8.0.4.1 and 1.3.4-beta (Unicode)

This is a problem with the implementation of Nyquist in Audacity. Your 3.4 megabyte MP3 will probably become around 50MB of data in Audacity (depending on bit depth, sample rate and MP3 compression - Audacity uses uncompressed data). The Delay effect is a Nyquist plug-in, so that data gets passed ov...

Re: changing podcast voice to something tolerable

You could ask him to try and get a bit more emotion in his voice while he is reading, and stop blowing into the microphone (a pop shield would fix that).

Re: Click track broken?

That seems a bit weird. Try this as an experiment: 1) Open Audacity 2) From the Tracks menu select "Add New > Audio Track" 3) Switch on the "Snap to" in the Selection Toolbar and select exactly 1 second (from t=0.0 to t=1.0) 4) From the Effects menu, select "Nyquist Prompt&q...

Re: Recording set up advice

If it's a reasonably modern computer then virtually any computer will have enough power. The more important issue is that you have a stable computer. Use decent quality RAM, a decent motherboard and a hard drive that is at least 7200 RPM. It is a bonus to have 2 internal drives and a large capacity ...
