Re: Shortcut keys
So why is it not possible, can you show me the codes of effects. I'm just a well seasoned user of Audacity, not a developer, so I can tell you much about what Audacity does, but not much about how it does it. I think they use some deep kind of magic. If you understand about coding stuff, the code i...

Re: recording 5 hours of webcast radio
They play fine on my CD players, but they would not play on a friend's CD player which is about 10 years old. Not all CD players will play CDr's, though nearly all modern ones will. Also, some CD players are very fussy and will only play CDRs if they are perfect (in practice CDRs often contain a fe...

Re: Processing live vocal recordings
I'm used to seeing much wider wave forms from the FirePod recordings You may have automatic gain control (AGC) switched on (time to read the manual ;) ) AGC is fine for quick MP3 recordings, but for higher quality, turn it off, set the recording levels carefully (avoid clipping!) and record WAV, th...

Re: guitar effects pedal
Record your amp with a microphone. Much of the tone of an electric guitar comes from the amp / cab, especially when you are using distortion effects. Some (expensive) effects pedals use amp/cab digital modelling to overcome the problem (Line 6 pod is probably the best known) and these can be recorde...

Re: Processing live vocal recordings
Since you are processing the audio after recording, you should record in WAV format rather than MP3. Rather than the leveler and compressor, I would recommend using Chris’s dynamic compressor: http://pdf23ds.net/software/dynamic-compressor/ Full instructions are included on his web page. To install ...

Re: Vista - can't export MP3
That's quite a crucial bit of information. I'm surprised you didn't think of including it in this topic.markh_tampa wrote:Okay... let me clarify.
I cannot export as ANYTHING. No WAV, no MP3, no nothing.

Re: Shortcut keys
Ctrl+R is the short-cut key combination for "Repeat last Effect". It is not possible to bind keys to effects. This is the full list of available bindings in Audacity 1.3.7 (you can access the list in "Preferences"). "New" ="New" key="Ctrl+N" "Op...
