See here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8227&p=33202&hilit=telephone#p33202 Another method: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=6768&p=26937&hilit=+telephone#p26937 The second method is a bit more complicated, but once it is set up you can ...

Re: pasting a clip into a track?

So after i lined up the two tracks, I just highlight them and then select "crossfade" and it will merge it all into one track? Not exactly. After you have lined them up you will probably have a bit of an overlap between the first part and the second part. Trim down the overlap - for music...

Re: pasting a clip into a track?

when I want to extend a track I go round the houses You certainly do :D There is no need to change from mono to stereo to mono, you can do it all in mono or stereo, depending on which type your original is. Use Ctrl+D to duplicate the part that you want. Lining up the beats exactly can take a bit o...

Re: Effects Plug-Ins not showing up.

Why doesnt someone put a simple to use Audacity user guide? Or would it be 4000 pages long? See the "Tips" and "Tutorials" links at the top of this page. The 1.3/1.4 manual is not yet finished and currently runs to over 240 pages (English language version). (mental note to self ...

Re: Click track broken?

Please confirm (or otherwise) the following.

You have deleted the audacity.cfg file and tried again with the same result (only one bar generated, spread over the full time).

You have tried this with the "Link" button in Audacity switched off.

Re: recording 5 hours of webcast radio

That person is now your Quality Control Point Yes it can be useful to have a CD player that only plays perfect CDR's, but some old CD players will not play any CDR's even if they are perfect. Reduce the burn speed and use higher quality blanks until your music works on their player. Never use "...

Re: Help with LAME MP3 Encoder Install

One reply said the server might be busy but I have been trying this all day. They are probably correct, or there may have been a temporary server problem. Try using the links from the Audacity page again today. If it still fails, please post exactly which links you are using so that we can check it...

Re: Processing live vocal recordings

I've not tried the H4, but I have a Zoom H2, and on that there are 2 level controls - one is a high/medium/low sensitivity switch (a kind of coarse level control) and then an up/down recording level (offering fine adjustment). On the H2, setting the switch to the most sensitive setting it can record...

Re: Click track broken?

Ubuntu jaunty ! Cool :D I've tried Audacity 1.3.6 on Intrepid, but had a lot of problems with it. The current development version is Audacity 1.3.7 which seems to be much better (a lot of bug fixes, but at the moment only available as 1.3.7 alpha). 1.3.7 beta is due out imminently, so since you are ...
