Re: [SOLVED] Project menu missing (and others)

"Clean Speech" is a special mode for performing quick tasks on speech recordings. This mode has many of Audacity's features missing from the user interface.

To switch between Clean Speech mode and normal mode, go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Interface".

Re: phone support

I presume that you have looked at the Tutorials: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tutorials

Re: crash on startup - vista

I think that you will have more success at fixing the Audacity 1.3 problems than fixing the Audacity 1.2 problems. (Audacity 1.2 pre-dates Vista SP1 and is no longer being developed). Have another go with Audacity 1.3.6 (if you have an earlier version of 1.3, then download a new copy - Audacity 1.3....

Re: Help me

Audacity always uses uncompressed audio data, so when you open or import an mp3 (or any other compressed format), Audacity will uncompress it as it imports it. As Koz says, on Windows you can see the format properties of a file by selecting the file and File > Properties > Advanced Properties. For m...

If you are wanting to record from a USB device, then you will be completely bypassing the computer soundboard.

You need to select the USB device in Audacity Preferences. What options are available?

I want to access a Au file I created If you are referring to the .au files that are in the project data folder, you should not be trying to access these. They are data files, and making any changes to any of them will destroy your Audacity project. Se here for important information about how Audaci...
