Re: Recording questions
Go into the Control Panel and look in "Sounds and Audio Devices". If the Tascam is not available there, then you do not have a Windows driver loaded for that device and Audacity will not be able to use it. It could be that the Tascam uses an ASIO driver by default, but Audacity does not su...

Re: Help me
my system does not met system requirements of SUPER. Neither does mine (Pentium III 500MHz, 512 MB RAM), but it works fine for most things (though it gives a warning about that when you launch the program). If your computer is below spec. the main drawback is that some video conversions may be extr...

Re: how to make it sound like a telephone call?
"Land-line"; a term commonly used in the UK for a wired telephone (as opposed to "cell phone" / "mobile phone" / "internet voip phone" / "string and tin can" .... ... Like everybody knows that radar goes round and round and a newsroom has to sound li...

If you are using Vista, you may need to go into the Control Panel and enable the Tascam. See here for help with the Windows Control Panel: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS#Using_the_Control_Panel_to_select.2Fenable_recording_devices When enabled, you should be able to se...

True. The examples given in my first post are approximations to the sound from a land line.kozikowski wrote:What is this thing you call a "telephone?" You mean a cellphone or mobile? Those have way different sound problems.

Re: how to export raw data to Matlab?
What exactly do you mean? Do you want individual sample values, peak levels within a time frame, RMS values within a time frame, average energy levels, or something else?ahajnal wrote:raw data of sound intensity
Could you perhaps export the audio from Audacity as raw data, then read that directly into MatLab?

Re: I can't set the microphone level slider?
am capturing the audio from an Ion USB turntable, using the USB connection. But I think the USB input bypasses the soundcard? That is correct. Audio levels are frequently too high and I am getting some clipping, but lowering the input level via slider does not work. Audacity can not control the inp...

Re: Playback delay while recording?
I'm playing pre-recorded jam tracks in "Windows Media Player" ... When I try to just play along with the jam tracks (with "my lead" part playing through Audacity so I get both sounds from the same source, ie. my computer) the 1/2 second delay screws with me too much to have any ...

Re: Saving custom equalizer presets
Yes, probably. I don't have Vista, but you may find that the EQCurves.xml is in your user profile directory.
