You can install Audacity 1.3.5 with Synaptic (Look in the "System" menu).

Re: Still no LAME MP3 Encoder
This is the current location - I have tested the link and it is working. http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/lame_enc.dll Instructions from the Audacity wiki: 1. Download an unzipped copy of the required lame_enc.dll here 2. Do not open this file, but save it to your computer. As you will be using this .dll f...

Re: Buttons on the Top.
You lost the Audacity window, so to fix that you deleted the "audacity.cfg" file. Now you can open Audacity, but you still have problems. Did Audacity work before the problem with loosing the Audacity window? What is the problem now? ("nothing works" is not a fault description, i...

Re: phone support
it even has a tab that says " remove vocals" and it does a terrible job at that. As it says in this tutorial ( http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Vocal_Removal ) There is no universal, reliable way of doing this without having the original multi-track recordings. Different track...

You could ask an Administrator or Moderator to deactivate your account. I think that would leave your posts intact, though I'm not 100% sure about that. I think you could then sign up for a new account using the same (or different) e-mail address. Buanzo should be able to give you a definitive answe...

Re: mp3 file sizes
I also tried the lamedrop approach, and it rejected my WAV file entirely. Are my WAVs the problem? Does anyone have an idea what's going on? It's probably to do with the WAV files - they are probably not WAV files. If you right click on the file and look at the advanced audio properties, Windows sh...
