Re: Slow Forum
I've noticed a difference is that I do not generally log out, and I have Firefox set to log in automatically. Also, I am on broadband and my IP address does not change very often. I am wondering if the slowness to connect that you are experiencing is due to the forum checking for banned IP addresses...

Re: Recoding from cassette tape
I suspect that you have changed the sample rate of the track. Doing this will change the playback speed. You can set the required recording sample rate by either setting the default rate in Audacity Preferences (Edit Menu > Preferences > Quality tab), or by selecting the required project rate from t...

Please state if you are using Windows, Mac or Linux and which version of Audacity so that I can move this post to the correct message board.

Re: Adding sounds to a track while recording
I'm wanting to record to a podcast "as live", meaning I want to be able to trigger other pre-recorded sounds while recording vocals.... Imagine there's been 10 minutes of discussion, and now I'm moving onto "news headlines", at this point I'll want to activate the news jingle, a...

Re: Slow mp3 encoding under Vista.
Norton installed on the other HP machine running XP does not have the problem. Do you mean that Exporting MP3's from Audacity on other machines works OK? I gave up using audacity 1.3 several years ago because it crashed frequently (under XP). There have been a number of issues causing crashes of Au...

Re: How to Export in 1.3.7 ?
but please in future, we need this to be explained up front and on top! The documentation should be just about complete by the time that Audacity1.4 (stable) is released. Audacity 1.3.x is beta software, which means that it is being actively developed and is still evolving, so there is of necessity...

Re: Slow mp3 encoding under Vista.
Since you mentioned Norton - does it make any difference if you temporarily disable Norton?

which is still offering AVS rather than Audacity 1.3.7 :( :? :?: If the download of Audacity does not start automatically, use the "direct link" on that page rather than clicking on the adverts. If you use Firefox web browser with "Adblock plus" installed, you can avoid the adve...

Re: Weird clicking sound...
This is probably an easy fix, Common issue, but not necessarily that easy to fix. Basically the problem is that data from you audio device is not getting written to the hard drive fast enough to make a continuous track (hence the drop-outs). This can be for any number of reasons. If you are using a...

Re: RCA to USB cables
The Behringer should certainly work (I use one, and I'm very happy with it).
I don't know about the other one - it looks like it is designed for video capture, so it may not work for playback. Have you managed to get it working at all?
