Re: Problems with save and with export
And I've deleted both the prefs and Audacity and reinstalled Audacity, deleted the Prefs and restarted before relaunching Audacity. I get the "what language do you want to use" dialogue so the prefs are indeed gone, Hooray :D but still the problem remains. Oh dear :( Still cannot find aud...

Re: Vista: Crash when I press the 'Stop-button'
This happens to me too. I'd like to hear about how v1.3 works on Vista before I try the download. Audacity 1.3.x is beta software and so is under development. This means that some releases will inevitably contain some bugs. Having said that, Audacity 1.3 is now in late stages of development and is ...

Re: Audacity crashed!!!
The safest form of backup is to export as WAV (multiple copies on different disks for really important stuff so as to also protect against hardware failure). I went back to a much earlier copy of the project to see if I could pick the tracks up from there but these tracks were missing there too. Was...

Re: LP recording slow playback
One possibility is that your sound card is running internally at 48kHz, and is not handling 44.1 correctly. Try changing the quality settings in "Preferences" to 48000 Hz. Note that if you import or open an existing file into a project, it may cause Audacity to change the project rate, so ...

Re: Error opening project
This type of issue is much easier to spot if you have a text editor that displays line numbers (or with "word wrap" switched off). Error: duplicate attribute at line 7 1 <?xml version="1.0" standalone="no" ?> 2 <!DOCTYPE project PUBLIC "-//audacityproject-1.3.0//DT...

Re: Audio won't play through Presonus FireBox
No matter what, Audacity doesn't talk to this firewire device. Audacity does not talk directly to any audio device - it talks to the computer sound system, and as long as the computer sound system is able to talk to the device, then all is well and good. I'm not a Mac user so the Mac sound system i...

Re: Problems with save and with export
When I do the reinstall and open Audacity I do not get that "blink a couple times and ask you if you want to use English", it just opens straight up. There is obviously some sort of preference file that Audacity is reading from because all of the "Recent Files" are still there a...

Re: LP recording slow playback
Oh... ? trying to get a clear picture here... So you are saying that the playback speed is not constant, but varies over the course of the recording?randes2000 wrote:I then play back a portion of the recording, find it to be slow and then apply the 8.3% speed increase

Re: Need Some Really Good Headphones
In what other ways is it poor (besides the recording input and sound quality)? Errr... what other ways are there? Poor sound quality would be my definition of a poor sound card. Unfortunately, it turns out that getting a new sound card is not an option for me (I have demanding parents who get very ...
