Re: Can still get previous versions?
One thing to consider if using an obsolete version of Audacity, help/support will be limited as other people will not be using the same program that you are. if you need any help or support, be sure to say which version you are using. The same applies for anyone using experimental alpha versions, or...

Re: Problem Importing File
I think you got the wrong quote there stearman65. JPEGs can be uploaded to the forum, but there is a size limit. If the file is too big, it won't let you. PNG and GIF are also allowed. I'm not sure off hand what other formats or what the file size limit is, but if pictures are too big, they don't di...

Re: Why oh WHY THE continued CRASHES?!
You will find ALL released versions of Audacity here: http://sourceforge.net/search/index.php?group_id=6235&words=file_name%3A(%2Baudacity)&type_of_search=files&pmode=0&limit=50 (forum does not like the link, so you will need to copy and paste it into your browser) The .zip files and...

Re: Why oh WHY THE continued CRASHES?!
Yes, the crashes of 1.3.7 were reported last week in a separate threat as well. I don't respond well to threats. Is anyone addressing this????? Like who? You mean like the team of dedicated, highly skilled, unpaid programmers that created Audacity and continue to develop it to this very day? Yes, t...

Re: Minidisc Player with optical conection
I expected that optical connections automatically would generate an exact 1:1 copy from an MD Fortunately it doesn't. Minidisks use a selection of compressed audio formats (several variations on ATRAC3) which are not supported by Audacity, and not supported by many other programs either. In fact, t...

Re: 128kpbs only?
They are there in Preferences somewhere. In Audacity 1.3 they are "options" in the Export dialogue (which is much more convenient).
Here you go: http://audacityteam.org/manual-1.2/prefs.html

KaBlam!
No, you'll not be able to do it. Best bet is to try and get hold of the original. I think it was released by Nickelodeon.

Re: What are supported audio formats?
So I burned the files to a disc and still couldn't get them accepted. What sort of disk? A regular audio CD that will play on all CD players? If so, then use either C-Dex or EAC to rip the CD as a WAV file (both programs are free - EAC can make perfect copies from good quality CD's but can be very ...

Re: Removing transients
It is much much better to avoid these sort of problems before they happen than to try and fix them later. To avoid the problem you should use a "pop shield" - a thin piece of gauze supported by a frame - you can make one from a wire coat-hanger and a pair of nylon tights - alternatively yo...
