Re: Fugue Audacity Skin
Nice looking theme tjoho0, though I think that theme looks better on your (Mac?) computer than on mine (Linux). screenshot.png It will be nice when Theme support is extended to more elements ;) Have you made any changes to it since you posted here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&am...

Re: Colour Chart for Theming
Maybe this is the wrong forum ..but I can't see a more appropriate place either. Nice idea tjoho0, it helps to make editing themes much easier. I presume that you are aware that theme support is currently only partially implemented and still under development. How accurate is that information? (Whi...

Re: What is causing the crackling on this vinyl??
"Scrubbing" sounds a bit too vigorous. "Vigorous agitation of the fluid" - that sounds better. (don't want to damage the vinyl). Back in the days when I still had my vinyl collect (ok so some of it is still up in the attic) I had a square of velvet (an off-cut from some upholster...

Re: When I record something, why does it sound so quiet?
Is this a laptop computer? There are often one or more settings accessed from an icon near the clock that allows you to apply or disable microphone effects (may be called "noise reduction", AGC, "Automatic Gain Control" "feedback eliminator" ...various other names). You...

Re: burning CD
am afraid that my CD player ... does not play WAV, it plays commercial and MP3 only. I'm not saying to make a data CD with WAV files on it, I'm saying to make an audio CD. Most CD writing software has the options to create either a Data CD, or an Audio CD. Audio CD's are a different format. The CD ...

Re: Multiple notches with Nyquist prompt?
The Nyquist notch filter provides a very deep and steep notch. When you remove hum with a notch filter, you are removing that frequency from everything, the music as well as the noise. For this reason you should avoid using it more than necessary. If you need to remove harmonics all the way up to 1....

Re: "Software Playthrough" unchecked makes the program unusa
You missed out which version of Audacity, and which version of Windows. Have you tried recording in Audacity with anything other than the H2? Does your computer have a sound card? If so, do you know what sort it is? Does it work? Is the computer a laptop? My guess is that you are using Vista, and th...

Re: Need test files for that cause Audacity to hang
I think it is definitely a 16 bit file because if I create a 1.0 second stereo WAV file at 48kHz (48000 samples), it is 192004 bytes (the same as your file). (2 bytes per sample x 2 channels x 48000 samples. )

Re: "Software Playthrough" unchecked makes the program unusa
I think you will need to give a detailed description of your set-up. I've just tested my H2 on a Pentium III 500MHz (Ubuntu 8.10) with Audacity 1.3.8 alpha. Software playthrough is switched off (so the microphone input does not play through the sound card - If I need to monitor the microphone input ...
